Curt Christian

Curt Christian (born May 30, 1920 in Linz , † March 29, 2010 in Vienna ) was an Austrian mathematician , logician and doctor .

Christian studied medicine , philosophy and mathematics at the University of Vienna . In 1947 he received his doctorate in medicine and in 1953 his doctorate in philosophy with Leo Gabriel and Friedrich Kainz on Nicolai Hartmann's modal analysis . In 1957 he completed his habilitation in logic. In 1966/67 the Institute for Logistics of the University of Vienna was founded with him as the founding board. He headed the institute until his retirement in 1990 and afterwards until the appointment of his successor Sy Friedman in 1999.

He was a real member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences and an honorary member of the Austrian Mathematical Society .

Christian published 50 works on the topics of the concept of God and Godel's proof of God, modal logic and logic philosophy, mathematical logic.

He was buried at the Grinzinger Friedhof in Vienna.
