Curt Fensterbusch
Otto Curt Fensterbusch (born August 12, 1888 in Magdeburg - Sudenburg , † December 1, 1978 in Gelsenkirchen ) was a German classical philologist and high school teacher.
After graduating from high school in Goslar, Fensterbusch studied classical philology in Berlin , Munich and Leipzig since 1907 . He received his doctorate on April 13, 1912 with Erich Bethe with a thesis on Aristophanes . In 1913 he also passed the examination for teaching at grammar schools. He spent his seminar year from 1913 to 1914 at the Johanneum in Lübeck , his probationary year from 1914 to 1915 at the grammar school in Norden (East Friesland) . From 1915 to 1919 he did military service. From January to March 1920 he taught at the grammar school in Aurich , since April 1, 1920 at the grammar school in Gelsenkirchen .
He was best known for his German translation of Vitruvius' work, first published in 1964 .
