Curtis Island is a 1.5 km long island in the Biscoe Islands archipelago off the Graham coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 3 km northeast of Jagged Island .
The island was first shown on an Argentine map from 1957. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it on July 7, 1959 after Robin Curtis, geologist of the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey at Prospect Point in 1957, who had also supported the work of the Royal Navy's hydrographic survey team in the area from 1957 to 1958 .
