Curtis Charles Shears (born July 4, 1901 in Omaha , † July 30, 1988 in Bonita Springs ) was an American sword fencer .
Life
Curtis Shears took part in the 1932 Olympic Games in Los Angeles , where he won the bronze medal in the team competition with George Calnan , Miguel de Capriles , Gustave Heiss , Tracy Jaeckel and Frank Righeimer . At national level, he was American outdoor champion in the epee individual in 1923.
Shears received his Juris Doctor degree from New York University in 1932 and subsequently became Assistant United States Attorney in New York City .
