Cutral-Có ( Mapudungun : kytral ko , "waters of fire") is a city in southwest Argentina , located in the Department of Confluencia in the center of the Neuquén province . It has 35,465 inhabitants (2010, INDEC ), making it the second largest city in the province. Together with the neighboring town of Plaza Huincul , it forms an agglomeration with 46,268 inhabitants.

Cutral-Có is located on the Patagonian Meseta, 110 kilometers west of the provincial capital Neuquén , with which it is connected via the national road Ruta Nacional 22 . The area belongs geographically to the landscape of the so-called Monte with a dry and windy climate.

economy

Cutral-Có is the center of an extensive area where oil is produced. She also owns a fertilizer factory and some petrochemical industry.

Sports

So far there has only been one international match for the Argentine national soccer team in Cutral-Có: On May 6, 2010, Haiti was defeated there 4-0. This makes Cutral-Có the southernmost place where Argentina played an international match.
