The Cuvier River is a river in the west of the Australian state of Tasmania .
geography
River course
The river has its source on the western slopes of Mount Olympus in the Cheyne Range , a mountain range in the eastern part of the Cradle Mountain Lake St. Clair National Park . Shortly after its source, it flows through Lake Petrarch . From there, its course leads southeast to its entry into Lake St. Clair at the settlement Watersmeet , where it forms the Derwent River together with the Narcissus River .
