Cyclophyllidea ( kyklofy'lɪdɛa , also tsy- ) is an order of tapeworms . It comprises more than half of the known tapeworms, making it the most species-rich order of this class. Many species of this order are clinically important parasites in humans and animals.

features

All Cyclophyllidea have many limbs ( proglottids ) and four suction cups on the tapeworm head ( Scolex ). The genital pores of the proglottids are mostly unilateral, only the representatives of the Dilepididae have genital pores arranged on both sides. There is a compact yolk gland ( Vitellarium ) behind the ovary .
