Cymo (bourgeois Simon Adrian , born October 25, 1990 in Trier ) is a German music producer, composer, songwriter and DJ.

Career

Simon Adrian is the son of a German and a French woman. At the age of thirteen he came into contact with music production and DJing for the first time through the sound engineer Volker "IDR" Gebhardt. After first joint productions with Peter "Fonty" Albertz, Adrian temporarily moved to North Wales in 2006 to complete his school career. Since he also produced other instrumentals, he adopted the stage name Cymo . This is both the Welsh word for “mood” and a combination of the French and English pronunciations of his real first name Simon. In 2009 he finished school with an International Baccalaureate and returned to Germany to complete a dual course of business administration and training as a banker over the next three years .

In 2010 Cymo met the producer Shuko who promoted him from then on. He also stayed in contact with Peter "Fonty" Albertz. In 2015 he first met those responsible for the Takeover MGMT label . Cymo began by devoting himself to music production full time. In 2016 he took over the complete production and the subsequent mixing of the album Alles auf Anfang by the takeover artist T-Zon . With position 11 for the first time an album with Cymos participation in the German charts. As a DJ for T-Zon and Kayef , he also subsequently gained live experience, for example as part of the Alles Auf Anfang Tour or the Chaos Tour .

Adrian was one of the authors of the song Gold , with which the singer Freschta competed in the Swiss preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 . Furthermore, Cymo was on the two number one albums Anarchy and Everyday Life of the Antilopen Gang and Tru. represented by Cro . The hip-hop / rock group Tiavo produced their entire album Oh Lucy with him. A number of Cymo co-produced singles of the duo under contract with Genetikks label Outta This World had already appeared in advance .

At the end of 2017, Cymo released his first single Monday Morning with the support of Chris Heath , as "Ode against everyday stress for freedom". The song Change was released a few months later as a second single on the Goodvibe Music Germany label . 2018 contributed a remix to Cymo number-one single Je ne parle pas français of Namika at. He was also involved as a producer on Chris Cobaye's debut single Hotel .
