Systematics
Two subspecies are distinguished within the species:
- Cyphanthera odgersii subsp. odgersii
- Cyphanthera odgersii subsp. occidentalis Haegi
They differ in the shape of the foliage leaves and the corolla lobes: In the subspecies odgersii , the foliage leaves are one to twice as long as they are wide and the corolla lobes are 2 to 2.5 mm long, in the subspecies occidentialis, however, the leaves are 2,3 to 4 times as long as wide, the corolla lobes are 1.3 to 1.8 mm long.
