Cyprian Romberg
Ciprian Friedrich Marianne Romberg (born October 28, 1807 in Hamburg ; † October 14, 1865 there ) was a German cellist .
Life
Cyprian Romberg was a son of Andreas Romberg and thus came from the Romberg family of musicians . He was trained as a cellist under the direction of his great-uncle Bernhard Romberg . He made concert tours in Germany, Hungary and Bohemia, later became a member of the imperial band in Saint Petersburg , where his brother Heinrich Romberg also worked, then lived in seclusion in Hamburg and drowned on October 14, 1865 near Hamburg-Ottensen in the Elbe .
