The Dämeritzsee is located in the south-east of Berlin and is half in Berlin city area and the other half in Brandenburg. The Berlin-Rahnsdorf location Hessenwinkel ( Treptow-Köpenick district ) borders the lake to the north and west, while the city of Erkner ( Oder-Spree district ) borders the lake to the east and south .
The Dämeritzsee is roughly circular with a diameter of around one kilometer. It is part of the federal waterway Rüdersdorfer Gewässer (RüG) with waterway class III. The Berlin Waterways and Shipping Office is responsible .
The Dämeritzsee is a hub for the local recreational boating, as you can reach different bodies of water from here, such as the Müggelspree , the Müggelsee , the Gosener Kanal and the Seddinsee .
The European cycle route R1 runs along the north bank of the lake .
