The Dünnekenberg is a 390.3 m above sea level. NHN high mountain in the southern Sauerland mountainous region south of Attendorn in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Olpe , directly on the north-east bank of Lake Bigge .
A hut belonging to the SGV Attendorn department has been located near the summit since 1940 . It is simply farmed on Sundays. The Biggeblick viewing platform was opened near the hut in 2013 . It is freely accessible at all times and offers views of the northern part of the Bigge lake with the dam and the Gilberg Island as well as the Waldenburg ruins . In addition, the view encompasses the mountain ranges surrounding the lake as well as Neu-Listernohl in a westerly direction and the high elevations of the Ebbegebirge with the transmission systems on the Nordhelle and the Waldberg .
From the car park at the campsite near the Waldenburg Bay southeast of the Dünnekenberg, a forest road closed to public traffic leads steeply up to the viewing platform. You can also get here from the north end of the dam on a steep footpath.
