DJ Ace (* 1974 in Zurich ; real name Arsal Çağlar ) is a Swiss DJ and music producer from Basel . The pseudonym Ace is made up of its initial letters and the letter E for " Ecce homo ".

Life

Arsal Çağlar was born in Zurich in 1974 and spent four years of his childhood in Istanbul . In 1980 he moved to Basel , where he grew up in the St. Johann quarter . When he was asked to open the Badhüsli youth center in April 1986 , he began his career as a DJ.

In 1986 Çağlar appeared for the first time as "DJ Ace". He entered the DMC championships in 1991 and took third place there. After this success he began to support various Swiss artists as a tour DJ. In 1994 he founded " Kings Organization ", followed two years later by his own business, " ACE Records ". The following year he was able to open another branch in Bern. From 1996 to 1998 he won the Swiss DMC championships three times in a row.

He then started at the “AV8 label” and in the same year founded his own label called “ Starsal 74 ”, with which he had several releases between 2001 and 2007. He continued to perform in Switzerland. He played with the National Brass Band and took part in various theater projects at the Basel-Stadt dance theater .

DJ Ace released a mixtape with Tony Touch . In France he had his “DJ Ace Radio Show” and there were various publications on AV8. Among other things, he produced for Fatman Scoop and Beenie Man . In 2005 his producer album Jetzt Ich! , which reached number 100 on the Swiss album charts.

In 2007 DJ Ace started working for the major label Columbia Records in New York . There he had the radio show New York Style together with Stik-E & the Hoods . In 2008 he published in advance of the album Ms. Kelly of Kelly Rowland a mixtape as a promo. In the same year he went on tour with MOP and released his second album Jetzt Du . In 2009 he produced a club anthem for the football club Fenerbahçe Istanbul . In 2011 DJ Ace returned to Basel. The weekly “DJ Ace Shows” , which have now been taken over by the Zurich radio station Radio 105 , were broadcast from here. The collaboration with radio came to an end in April 2013.
