DJ Marky (actually: Marco Antonio da Silva ; * 14. June 1973 in São Paulo ) is a drum-and-bass - DJ and music producer from Brazil .

At the beginning of the 1990s, DJ Marky was one of the first DJs to bring jungle and breakbeat sounds from Great Britain to clubs in his home country. When drum and bass became popular in Brazil in 1994 and 1995, DJ Marky became one of the leading DJs in the scene. He quit his sales job at Up Dance Records and became resident DJ at the Toca Club , which was attended by over 5,000 guests every weekend. At the same time he appeared on various radio shows. In 1995 and 1996 DJ Marky was named Brazil's "DJ of the Year".

In 2000 he had his own radio show on BBC Radio 1 in the UK and was nominated for Best DJ at the Ericsson Muzik Awards and made it to Ministry Magazine's top 10 DJ list in 2001 (alongside the likes of Danny Tenaglia , Timo Maas and Paul Oakenfold ). Also in 2001 he won the title "Best International DJ" at the "Knowledge Magazine Awards" in London . At the same time, he released a compilation in Brazil entitled "Audio Architecture", which sold over 25,000 copies in the first month. DJ Marky got his own show on MTV Brazil.

In 2002 DJ Marky started his own musical productions. The single "LK", which was created in collaboration with Stamina MC , made it straight into the UK single charts.

In 2003 remixes for Us3 , Bebel Gilberto and Everything But The Girl followed and a collaboration with the Brazilian musician and Minister of Culture Gilberto Gil .

His song "No Time 2 Love" can be found in the video game FIFA Street 2 .
