DJ Pooh , actually Mark Jordan (* 1969 in Los Angeles ) is an American music producer , screenwriter , director and actor .
Career
DJ Pooh was a member of the LA Posse hip-hop production team commissioned by Russell Simmons in 1987 to produce LL Cool J's album Bigger and Deffer . He then got out of LA Posse and worked as an independent producer for other hip-hop artists, for example for Tha Dogg Pound on their album Dogg Food or on 2Pac's double album All Eyez on Me . After he produced several tracks on Ice Cube's album The Predator in 1992 , including the single It Was a Good Day , he continued to work with Ice Cube. Among other things, he created the scripts for the film Friday , he himself took on the role of Red and his two successors. In 1992 he founded the record label Da Bomb on which his only solo album Bad Newz Travels Fast was released in 1997 in collaboration with Atlantic Records . In the 2001 film The Wash with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg in the lead roles, he was involved as a writer, director and actor in the role of Slim . He was also involved as an author of the computer game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas , published in 2004 .
