The DSV sailing instructor license A is proof of the German Sailing Association , which certifies the owner's ability to train sailing students to become a sports boat license inland and a sports boat license for the lake .

The exam is divided into three parts:

  1. Questionnaire: The applicant has to answer a questionnaire. Depending on the number of points achieved, an oral supplementary examination is required.
  2. Theoretical teaching sample: The applicant must prepare a 45-minute teaching unit on two topics in writing and submit it to the DSV. The teaching units must be held in front of the examination board.
  3. Practical teaching sample: The applicant must hold a practical teaching unit in front of the examination board. The session must be held directly on the water or on a watercraft .

Qualification

Sailing instructor is not a protected job title . This means that in principle anyone can call themselves a sailing instructor. A DSV sailing instructor license is therefore a voluntary proof of the ability to train sailing students. The license should give the sailing student proof that the instructor has a level of knowledge that has been checked by the DSV.

Holders of a DSV sailing instructor license may call themselves DSV sailing instructors .
