Dadda'to (also: Deda'-etu; Arabic دادتو) is a place on the northeast border of the Obock region in Djibouti .
geography
The place is near the border with Eritrea in the valley of the We'ima Wenz . Not far away in the west is the border to the neighboring region of Tadjoura . An important landmark is the Daḏḏa'toe Alab () cliff and the Wadi Dadda'to Alal () of the same name comes from the west and extends across the border of Eritrea from Tadjoura. In the south rise the hills Kîlali 'Issi () with the summit Baï (). The next larger towns are Alaili Dadda (30 km) and Assa Gaila (38 km).
Townscape
The place is surrounded by a wall with a length of approx. 80 m × 60 m. There are about a dozen houses and a mosque in the village .
history
Dadda'to is the largest settlement on the border between Djibouti and Eritrea. When France and Italy first established the border between the "Italian" Eritrea and the "French" Somaliland , Dadda'to was used as the reference for the latitude at which the straight border was drawn. The border between Djibouti and Eritrea has changed since then, but Dadda'to remains on the border.

The climate is tropical desert. Except for real aloe (Aloe vera), only a few, desert-hard plants are grown.
