Daheim magazine : a German family paper with illustrations was published over 79 years from 1864 to 1943 by Daheim-Expedition ( Velhagen & Klasing ) in Leipzig, Bielefeld and Berlin. The sheet initially appeared weekly, later on a fortnightly rhythm, and was based on the design of the gazebo . The content was conservative-Christian.

An annual home calendar was also published from 1872 to 1935, and from 1886 to 1888 there were also monthly diaries for home. From 1915 to 1918 the Daheim-Expedition publisher also published a sub-series of Illustrated War Chronicles of the Home .

The magazine consistently contained thematic supplements such as Aus der Zeit - für die Zeit (from 1879), Frauen-Daheim (from 1886), Hausmusik (from 1890), Der Hausgarten (from 1892) or from 1894 Children's Home , later Noah's Ark .

Theodor Hermann Pantenius and Robert Koenig were in charge of the editorial work . From 1890 Hanns von Zobeltitz was editor of the magazine. The house music supplement was headed by Ferdinand Pfohl from 1889 to 1914 .

The authors and illustrators who worked for Daheim included the cookbook author Henriette Davidis and Ottilie Wildermuth , who was well known at the time , as well as Theodor Fontane , Paul Heyse , Julius Stinde , Johannes Trojan , Fedor Flinzer , Heinrich Seidel , Ferdinand Lindner , Erich Kips , Ferdinand Pfohl and others. The magazine was illustrated by Richard Knötel , among others .
