action
In an icy North American region, a bomber of unknown origin is shot down by an American fighter jet . The bomber crashes and an atomic bomb it was carrying explodes. The result is the awakening of a gigantic, prehistoric, turtle-like monster named Gamera.
Gamera destroys the American jet with his fireballs and takes refuge in the sea. The monster swims to Japan and appears in front of Sagami Bay , destroys the city of Fujisawa and then retreats back into the sea. Scientists and government officials hold a conference to discuss whether it would be better to kill Gamera. Meanwhile, Gamera destroys a research ship and its crew, and then swims on to Tokyo . There he is bombed several times and protects himself with his tank. In the end, Gamera is trapped in a capsule and shot into space.
