Dainius Žalimas (born May 22, 1973 in Vilnius ) is a Lithuanian lawyer, international lawyer , professor and court president of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Lithuania (2014–2020).

Life

From 1991 to 1996 Dainius Žalimas graduated from the Law Faculty of Vilnius University with a degree in law . He then received his doctorate on April 26, 2001 and taught at the law faculty. Žalimas has been a professor there so far . From 2002 to 2005 he was a professor at Lietuvos teisės universitetas (MRU), from 2001 to 2003 at the Military Academy of Lithuania and from 2005 lecturer at the MRU. From 1996 he was a civil servant , from 1998 to 2011 advisor to the Lithuanian defense minister , from 2001 to 2003 a member of the Vilnius City Council . He has been a judge since March 15, 2011, and President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Lithuania since July 10, 2014 (appointed by Seimas on the proposal of the Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė ).

Žalimas is married to Skirgailė Žaltauskaitė-Žalimienė (* 1972), judge of Lietuvos vyriausiasis administracinis teismas and lecturer at Vilnius University.
