Zenonas Petrauskas

Zenonas Petrauskas (* 22. June 1950 in Čekiškė , Kaunas District Municipality , Soviet Union ; † 18th January 2009 in Vilnius , Lithuania ) was a Lithuanian lawyer, international law experts and politicians , Vice Minister , from 2004 to 2006 Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania .

Life

After graduating from middle school in Ariogala ( raseiniai district municipality ) Zenonas Petrauskas graduated to 1975 law at the Law Faculty of Vilnius University and in 1982 graduated at the Institute of Philosophy, Sociology and Law of the Academy of Sciences. In 1991 he continued his education at the Institute for Eastern Law at the University of Cologne , in 1994 at the Institute for Political Science at the University of Umeå ( Sweden ), in 1995 at the University of Aarhus ( Denmark ) and in 1997 at the University of Brussels ( Belgium ).

From 1991 to September 2005 he was Head of the Chair of International and EU Law at the Law Faculty of Vilnius University. From 1995 to 1996 he was a legal expert with the OSCE mission in Ukraine , from 1998 an OSCE arbitrator, and from 1999 to 2001 legal advisor to the OSCE mission in Kosovo . From 2004 to 2006 he was Deputy Foreign Minister of Lithuania, Deputy Minister Antanas Valionis in the Lithuanian government of Algirdas Brazauskas ( Brazauskas II cabinet ).

Zenonas Petrauskas was the author of monographs on diplomatic and consular law .

Zenonas Petrauskas was married and had a daughter.
