Dajana Dengscherz (born December 3, 1996 ) is a former Austrian ski racer . From 2015 to 2018 she was a member of the B-team of the Austrian Ski Association and started mainly in the fast downhill and super-G disciplines .

biography

Dajana Dengscherz comes from Kirchberg in Tirol and started for the Kitzbühel Ski Club. She graduated from the Saalfelden ski school . Her younger sister Carina is also a ski racer and competes in the European Cup.

After consistently good performances in FIS races and a national youth champion title in the downhill, Dengscherz was accepted into the C-squad of the ÖSV in 2014. In the following season she reached her first European Cup points in Super-G and Downhill. At the Junior World Championships 2016 in Sochi , she finished 15 in the downhill and 22nd in the combination, in the Super-G she was eliminated. The season 2015/16 she finished after three podium finishes in 15th place overall and fourth in the super-G standings. On December 9, 2016, she celebrated her first European Cup victory in the Super-G in Kvitfjell . At the Junior World Championships in Åre in March 2017 she won the bronze medal in the Super-G.

Dengscherz made her World Cup debut on December 9, 2015 in the downhill from Val-d'Isère . In the Super-G of Altenmarkt-Zauchensee , she won her first World Cup point in January 2016 with 30th place. In December 2017 she was able to score points in this discipline for the first time with a 30th place in the downhill from Lake Louise . After a rather disappointing season, the ÖSV deleted her from the squad, whereupon she resigned from active competitive sports in May 2018 at the age of 21. She plans to study at the FH Rosenheim .
