Dale Winton

Dale Jonathan Winton (born May 22, 1955 in Mansfield , † April 18, 2018 in London ) was a British radio DJ and television presenter .

Life

After finishing school in Mansfield, Winton began to DJ. In 1982 he moved to London and worked as a DJ in discos on the weekends. In the following years he worked for various British radio stations, including Radio Trent in Nottingham . Since 1987 he has worked for Channel Four and ITV . From 1993 to 2001 he presented Dale's Supermarket Sweep on ITV1 . In 1996, he also presented the evening game show Pets Win Prizes on ITV. On the radio, he also presented the program Pick of the Pops from 2000 to October 2010 on the radio station BBC Radio 2 . Further moderation of television programs in the 2000s followed: including Celebrity Fit Club from 2004 to 2006 and Show Me What You've Got in 2006 and In It To Win It in 2008. In 2009 he hosted the BBC program Hole in the Wall . Winton was openly gay in London.
