Dal Shabet ( 달 샤벳 , stylized Dal ★ Shabet or Dalshabet ) is a South Korean girl group that was founded in 2011. Behind Dal Shabet is the producer duo E-Tribe . The four, formerly six-member group is under contract with Happy Face Entertainment .
history
In 2010 it became known that the producer duo E-Tribe were working on founding a girl group with their small label Happy Face Entertainment . E-Tribe previously produced Girls' Generations Gee and Lee Hyoris U-Go-Girl .
The first music video of the newly formed group was released in early January 2011 with the title Supa Dupa Diva , as was the title of the first EP. The EPs Pink Rocket and Bling Bling followed in April and August . In 2012 they were able to achieve a number one hit with Hit U. On June 6, 2012, their debut album Bang Bang was released , which reached number 7 on the Gaon Charts . Also in 2012 the EP Have, Don't Have , followed by Be Ambitious (2013) and in January 2014 the EP BBB was released .
The group won several awards including the Soompi Gayo Award for Top New Artists of 2011 and the Allkpop Award for Rising Star 2012 .
From October 2017 to February 2018 Woohee took part in the casting show "The Unit: Idol Rebooting Project". She made it to the finals and became a member of the temporary girl group UNI.T .
