Ludwig Peter Damian Mosthaf , 1833 von Mosthaf , (born February 21, 1774 in Erlenbach , † January 8, 1851 in Ellwangen (Jagst) ) was an administrative officer and politician from Württemberg .

Life

Damian Mosthaf was the son of the Erlenbach staff school leader Franz Wilhelm Mosthaf. He studied camera science in Würzburg , Erlangen and Marburg . In 1801 he came to Mergentheim as a court chamber trainee of the Teutonic Order . In the same year he became a real councilor at the Court Chamber College. After the dissolution of the Teutonic Order, he was taken over as a councilor in the foundation section in Württemberg services. In 1815 he became a lecturer in the police ministry, in 1817 legal advisor at the Chamber of Accounts and in 1819 a member of the Catholic Upper Church Council in Stuttgart. In 1829 he was appointed government advisor and legal advisor to the Chamber of Accounts in Ludwigsburg and in 1832 he was appointed head of the government of the Jagstkreis in Ellwangen with the title of government director. In 1848 he retired.

From 1820 to 1847 he was a member of the second chamber of the Württemberg state parliament , where he made a name for himself as an advisor to the State Debt Commission and the trade regulations and participated in the Shepherd Act and the School Act of 1836.

Damian von Mosthaf is the grandfather of the State Council and member of the state parliament Heinrich von Mosthaf .

In 1833 Mosthaf was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of the Württemberg Crown , which was associated with the personal title of nobility.
