Damir Sinjurowitsch Chairetdinow ( Russian Дамир Зинюрович Хайретдинов / scientific Damir Zinjurovič Chajretdinov; born 1972 in Moscow ) is a Russian historian and ethnologist , Islamic scholar and a personality of Islam in Russia . He is the director of Moscow Islamic University (Moscow Islamic Institute). Previously, he was an official of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast in Nizhny Novgorod .

Chairetdinow specializes in indigenous cultures and languages ​​of Russian Muslims and Tatars .

From 1996–1997 he studied at the Institute for Arabic at the University of " Umm al-Qura " in Mecca ( Saudi Arabia ). From 1999 to 2006 he was Secretary of the Islamic Department of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Moscow . Since March 2011 he has been editor-in-chief of Islam Minbare (Ислам Минбаре) and Minbar Islama (Минбар Ислама), the official body of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims in the Russian Federation (formerly: Spiritual Administration of the Muslims of European Russia; Grand Muftuti : Ravil Ismagil ) .
