Daniel "Dan" W. Fowler (born July 11, 1914 in Rochester , New York ; † September 10, 1991 ibid) was an American football player and official. In 1970 he was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame in the official category.

life and career

Daniel W. Fowler was born on July 11, 1914 in the city of Rochester on the south shore of Lake Ontario . Already during his high school and youth years he played actively football and switched to the men's field at an advanced age. Shortly before the end of his career as an active person, he switched to the administrative area as a functionary. He was also treasurer of the Northwestern Inter-City League and Vice President of the State Association , so to speak of the state association, in 1946. Two years later he ended his career as an active and became Secretary of the State Association and President of the League. Subsequently, Fowler was named President of the State Association in 1951 and served in that position for ten years through 1961. At the same time he continued to act as President of the Northwestern Inter-City League. In 1970 he was accepted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame in the “Official” category . Nine years later, his wife Margaret Fowler , who was also active in the administrative area of ​​football, followed him to the Hall of Fame. Fowler died on September 10, 1991, about six months after his wife, in his hometown of Rochester in the US state of New York.
