Thomas Daniel Friedkin (* 1965 in San Diego ) is an American entrepreneur and CEO of The Friedkin Group and its subsidiary Gulf States Toyota Distributors . In June 2020, his net worth was estimated at $ 4.1 billion.

biography

Dan Friedkin was born in 1965 in San Diego, California, the son of entrepreneur Thomas H. Friedkin. He received a bachelor's degree from Georgetown University and a master's degree from Rice University . After graduating, he began working for Gulf States Toyota Distributors, a company founded by his father in 1969 that sells Toyota cars in Texas , Arkansas , Louisiana , Mississippi and Oklahoma . Friedkin is also an investor in the luxury hotel company Auberge Resorts .

He is also a film producer and director. His film production studio produced the film Alles Geld der Welt about the kidnapping of the grandson of oil magnate J. Paul Getty in 2017 . As a director, Friedkin directed his first film The Last Vermeer in 2019, which premiered at the Telluride Film Festival in August 2019.

In December 2019 Friedkin started negotiations to buy the Italian football club AS Roma . The purchase for a sum of 591 million euros was completed on June 17, 2020.
