J1 Lambaré
The J1 Lambaré (officially Asunción Bowl ) is a world junior tennis tournament that has been held annually by the International Tennis Federation since 1980 on a clay court in the city of Lambaré within the metropolitan area of the capital of Paraguay , Asunción . It belongs to the second highest tournament category G1.
history
In 1980 the first Asunción Bowl was played on the clay courts of the Yacht Y Golf Club in Lambaré . The tournament has been part of the G1 competition class since 1994, making it one of the most important and traditional youth events in South America . After the competition originally took place in March, it has been continuously moved forward in the tournament calendar in recent years and played for the first time at the end of January in 2020.

Players from South and Central America determine the winner lists. The notable winners since 1993 include the French Open finalist Guillermo Coria on the boys' side and the former world number one Amélie Mauresmo among the girls .
