Jitka Schönfeldová (born August 9, 1980 in Prague , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech tennis player .

Career

Schönfeldová triumphed in 1996 in the final of the junior doubles of the Australian Open , together with Michaela Paštiková , against Wolha Barabanschtschykawa / Mirjana Lučić 6: 1 and 6: 3.

She won two individual ITF Women's Circuit titles during her career . Her only main field participation in a WTA tournament was at the Pupp Czech Open 1996 , together with Alena Vašková in doubles.

Due to a series of injuries, she ended her professional career at the age of 18.

From 2002 to 2003 she played college tennis for two years at Flagler College in St. Augustine , Florida and then from 2004 at the University of Georgia in Athens , Georgia , where she studied journalism.
