The Danbury Mad Hatters were an American ice hockey team from Danbury , Connecticut . The team played in the Eastern Professional Hockey League in the 2008-09 season .
history
The team was founded in 2008 as a franchise of the Eastern Professional Hockey League , which was held for the first time . They filled the void that the International Hockey League's Danbury Trashers had left in the city after they disbanded in 2006. In their only season, the Mad Hatters finished third in the regular season. After the league ceased playing at the end of the 2008/09 season, so did the Danbury Mad Hatters. Since 2010, the Danbury Whalers from the Federal Hockey League have been playing a professional team in the city again.
