Daniel Felgenhauer (born May 10, 1976 in Hof ) is a former German soccer player and current coach .

Career

Felgenhauer learned the soccer game at ASGV Döhlau before he switched to the FC Bayern Hof team . There he made his debut at the age of 18 in the first team, which rose to the Bayern League in 1994 . The goal-threatening midfielder played for Bayern Hof until 1997 before he moved to SpVgg Greuther Fürth in the 2nd Bundesliga . There he became a top performer and later also a team captain in the following years.

In 2001 he moved to the Bundesliga for Borussia Mönchengladbach for a transfer fee of 1,250,000 euros . After two seasons in which he only played 21 games and scored one goal, he moved back to the 2nd Bundesliga to LR Ahlen , before returning to his old place of work in Greuther Fürth in 2005. In the 2nd Bundesliga Felgenhauer played a total of 183 games until 2006 and scored 24 goals. From the 2007/08 season , Felgenhauer wore the captain's armband at Fürth.

Since his contract in Fürth was not extended, he moved back to Rot Weiss Ahlen for the 2009/10 season. His contract there was terminated on January 9, 2010 with retroactive effect to December 31, 2009. On April 16, 2010 Bayern league team SpVgg Bayern Hof signed him as a player-coach. From September 24, 2010 he switched to the position of team manager at Hofer Bayern, but is still in the team. With the club he qualified for the new Bavarian regional league in the 2011/12 season . After the leave of absence from Norbert Schlegel , Felgenhauer took over the coaching position again at the end of the 2012/13 season with the relegation threatened Hofern. Felgenhauer met in two relegation games against Großbardorf and thus secured Bayern relegation. Bayern Hof then announced that Felgenhauer would remain a coach. He ended his playing career for it. On April 1, 2014, the club separated from Felgenhauer.

For the 2014/2015 season, Felgenhauer was assistant coach under Gino Lettieri at the third division club MSV Duisburg , with whom he signed a contract until 2015. In mid-2016, the association announced that it would end its cooperation with Felgenhauer. At the end of October 2016 he took over the A-youth of KFC Uerdingen 05 , but left the club in March of the following year.
