Daniel Gorak (born October 9, 1983 in Krakow ) is a Polish table tennis player . He participated seventeen times in world championships and once in the Olympic Games . He is right-handed and uses the shakehand stick position.

He is two-time vice-European champion in doubles.

Career

The Pole first appeared internationally in 2000, where he won gold with the team at the World Youth Championships. In the individual, he could reach the quarterfinals. At the European Championship he was also allowed to participate, but could not achieve success there. Further appearances followed in 2001, where Gorak was able to take part in the World Cup because of good performances and was able to reach the third round in the individual. He won two gold medals at the Youth World Cup.

Due to strong competition, he was only able to perform internationally again in 2005. At the EM he was able to participate with injuries, where Gorak reached the third round in mixed together with Maria Cichoka . Further successes followed in 2006, where he was able to reach the second round at the World Cup with the Polish team .

In 2007 he won the bronze medal with the team at the European Championships, in the world rankings he was the best Pole at the time. He also took part in the World Cup in Zagreb , but where he failed in all three competitions where he played in the first or second round. In 2008 he came in 13th place with the team at the World Cup.

From 2010 to 2013 he was unable to perform internationally again due to injuries and strong competition, but made it to the quarter-finals at the 2014 European Championships. Due to good performance in 2015, he qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and came with the Team to the round of 16, where they were defeated by Japan. He was also able to win silver in doubles at the European Championships with Jakub Dyjas .
