Daniel Heinrich Knecht
Daniel Heinrich Knecht (born June 27, 1828 - † January 23, 1913 ) was a German politician.
Knecht worked as a wine merchant in the Baden town of Eberbach . In 1868 he became the first commandant of the newly founded Eberbach volunteer fire department . From 1874 to 1892 he was mayor of Eberbach. During his tenure, the Sparkasse and the Gaswerk were founded. He was also a member of the Baden state parliament from 1887 to 1891 . In the state election in 1891 he was defeated by only one vote against the representative of the center , the mayor of Buchen .
For his work, Knecht was made a councilor of commerce and in 1908 an honorary citizen of Eberbach.
He was married to Hermione, b. Roth (1841-1920).
