Daniel Kaiser (journalist)

Daniel Kaiser (* 1972 in Lübeck ) is a German radio journalist.

Life

Daniel Kaiser grew up in Lübeck-Moisling and attended the ancient language branch of the Katharineum in Lübeck . As a schoolboy he played the organ in the Katharinenkirche for the weekly mornings at the time . After graduating from high school in 1992, he studied Protestant theology at the Augustana University in Neuendettelsau , the University of Heidelberg and the University of Hamburg . Even during his studies, which he did not graduate and gave up in 2008, he worked as a freelancer in the radio. He started as an intern at Radio Hamburg in 1996 . Later he worked for NDR as a reporter and as a culture and politics editor. In 2011 he got a permanent position at NDR 90.3 .

He is the head of the culture department of NDR 90.3 and moderates the culture journal (previously evening journal ) with a focus on classical music and church. He regularly moderates live broadcasts and produces feature programs for various radio waves. In 2017 he accompanied the opening phase of the Elbphilharmonie in detail .

Several times a year he preaches in churches in northern Germany or plays the flute and organ in church services. He is a member of the church council of the main church Sankt Petri (Hamburg) . and member of the College of the Elderly .
