Daniel Mandell

Daniel Mandell (born July 13, 1895 in New York , † June 8, 1987 in Huntington Beach , Orange County , California ) was an American film editor .

Daniel Mandell was responsible for editing a film for the first time in 1924. In 1942 he was nominated for an Oscar for the first time for The Little Foxes with Bette Davis . A year later, Mandell won the award for The Great Throw with leading actor Gary Cooper . In 1944 he shot Arsenic and Lace Cap and Das Korsarenschiff , a year later The Wonder Man . In 1947 he was awarded the Oscar for the film The Best Years of Our Life for the second time . In 1958, Daniel Mandall was again proposed for an Oscar. This time, however, he received nothing with the prosecution witness .

A year later the film Porgy and Bess followed and in 1961 Mandell got his third Oscar for the Billy Wilder comedy The Apartment with Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine . Until he retired in 1966, Mandall was still working on the films Eins, Zwei, Drei , Das Mädchen Irma la Douce , Kiss me, Dummkopf and Der Glückspilz .
