Daniel Petrie, Jr.
Daniel M. Petrie, Jr. (born November 30, 1951 ) is a Canadian screenwriter , director and film producer .
Life
Daniel M. Petrie is the son of the Canadian director Daniel Petrie . After studying at the University of Redlands from 1970 to 1975 , from which he graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology and creative writing , he started at the artist agency International Creative Management in the post office and worked his way up to an agent. From there, he and his writing partner Danilo Bach managed to sell the script for the action comedy Beverly Hills Cop - I'll definitely solve the case . With his debut screenplay he was able to celebrate his greatest success to date with an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay in 1985 .
Daniel M. Petrie is a member of the Writers Guild of America and was its President from 1997 to 1999. He met his wife Constance Petrie while working at ICM.
