Daniel Pollock

Daniel John Pollock (born August 24, 1968 - April 13, 1992 in Sydney ) was an Australian actor .

Daniel John Pollock attended Swinburne Senior Community School in Melbourne , a suburb of Hawthorn , Victoria in the mid-1980s . He had his best-known acting role in 1992 in the controversial film Romper Stomper as Neunazi Davey by film director Geoffrey Wright alongside Russell Crowe . For this role he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 1992 Australian Film Institute Awards .

At the beginning of his acting career, he played mostly smaller roles in films such as Nirvana Street Murder (1990) and Proof - The Proof (1991), where he often played punks, junkies or skinheads .

He caused a sensation when, on April 13, 1992, after a relationship with actress Jacqueline McKenzie (she played the girl Gabe in the film 'Romper Stomper') and before the release of his last film Romper Stomper, he committed suicide by being on Newtown Railway Station in Sydney before a train threw. It is said that Pollock was addicted to heroin. Russell Crowe (who also starred in Romper Stomper ) wrote a song about his death, The Night That Davey hit The Train , which he released on his album Bastard Life or Clarity .
