Daniel Royer House is a historically significant building in Blair County , Pennsylvania .
The earliest part of the house was three bays wide, two floors high, had a side hall and dates back to 1815. The builder, Daniel Royer, was an early industrialist in the area who owned several ironworks . Probably at the same time as the core house was erected, a one-and-a-half-storey building section with inverted formwork was added . Around 1840, a two-bay-wide and five-bay-deep wing, built similar to the main building, was added. On the inside, this wing of the building has a two-story veranda.
The front facade of today's main house is five yokes wide and consists of large corner stones . The lattice windows each consist of six panes and have paneled shutters on the ground floor. The cornice is made of wood and has simple moldings . The paneled entrance door is flanked by simple pilasters and has a skylight made of six panes. It has narrow side windows on the left and right. Around 1870, a canopy was added to the entrance door, which shows decorative elements made of cast iron . Daniel Royer House is stylistically a significant relic of early industrialization and traditional traditional architecture in western Pennsylvania.
On November 3, 1975, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places .
