Daniel Testa

Daniel Testa (born February 2, 1997 in Malta ) is a Maltese singer , songwriter and presenter .

Life

Daniel Testa was born in Malta on February 2, 1997, and started singing at the age of seven, participating in various festivals, of which he won a large number. In 2005 and 2006 he won the Malta Talent Award for children, in 2007 Testa was sixth in the Malta Junior Song for Europe , the preliminary decision for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest . At the age of ten the singer received a scholarship from Pineapple Studios and took part in workshops with actors from West End theaters in London . In 2008 he won the Malta Junior Eurovision , the preliminary round for the JESC and represented Malta at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2008 in Cyprus with the song Junior Swing . Daniel Testa took fourth place there. In the same year he signed a contract with the German label Cap Sounds . In the following years Testa sang for the Maltese game show Hadd Ghalik . In 2009 he announced the Maltese points at the JESC, in 2010 he hosted the same and the Bay Music Awards .

In 2013 he took part in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest, the preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest , with One Last Ride and reached third place. Also in the following year Testa took part in the preliminary round and reached the semifinals with the song Something in The Way , which was written by Charlie Mason. He also wrote the song Rise Like a Phoenix , with which Conchita Wurst won the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 . He qualified for the final and finished sixth with 24 points.

Today Daniel Testa studies biology and chemistry at GF Abela Junior College and works as a presenter for the radio station 89.7 Bay.
