Daniel Dwight Tosh (born May 29, 1975 in Boppard , Federal Republic of Germany ) is an American stand-up comedian and television presenter . He has his own show on Comedy Central , Tosh.0 , in which he shows video clips.

life and career

Daniel Tosh was in Rhineland-Palatinate and grew up with his brother and his two sisters in Titusville in the US state of Florida on. After graduating from Astronaut High School in 1993, Tosh began studying marketing at the University of Central Florida , graduating in December 1996. In 1998 he made an appearance on Juste pour rire in Montreal , which was shown on television in 2000. His breakthrough came in 2001 when he appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman .

In July 2012, Tosh was accused by the Cookies for Breakfast blog of humiliating a viewer during his show at the Laugh Factory . When the unnamed viewer interrupted his jokes about rape with a critical interjection ( rape jokes are never funny ), Tosh countered that it would be funny if that viewer were raped by five men ( Wouldn't it be funny if that girl got raped by, like, five guys right now? ). Tosh later apologized via Twitter . The incident made waves in the press and on the Internet. Patricia Lockwood responded in the online magazine The Awl with a long poem Rape Joke and made matters worse for Tosh when she revealed that a raped woman, for example she, might very well be considering rape in the form of a joke to speak.
