Daniel Udree (born August 5, 1751 in Philadelphia , Province of Pennsylvania , †  July 15, 1828 in Reading , Pennsylvania ) was an American politician . Between 1813 and 1825 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives several times .

Career

Daniel Udree attended public schools in his home country. He later moved to Berks County , where he worked in commerce. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Democratic Republican Party . Between 1799 and 1805 he was a member of the House of Representatives from Pennsylvania .

After the resignation of MP John M. Hyneman , Udree was elected as his successor to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC at the by-election due in the seventh constituency of Pennsylvania , where he took up his new mandate on October 12, 1813. Since he was not confirmed in 1814, he could initially only complete one legislative period in Congress until March 3, 1815 . During this time the British-American War ended .

After Joseph Hiester's resignation , Udree was re-elected to Congress in the seventh district of his state, where he ended the current legislative period between December 20, 1820 and March 3, 1821. Ludwig Worman , who was elected as his successor in 1820, died on October 17, 1822. Udree was then elected as his successor. He took up this mandate on December 10, 1822. After a re-election, he could remain in the US House of Representatives until March 3, 1825. In 1824 he renounced another candidacy.

After his time in Congress, Daniel Udree returned to trading. He died in Reading on July 15, 1828.
