Daniel Urban

Daniel Urban (born April 23, 1980 in Starnberg ) is a German actor and presenter.

Life

Urban grew up in Umbria, Italy. On his mother's side, he comes from an artist family that includes Ernst Haider , Karl Haider and Max Haider . His grandfather was the screenwriter and writer August Christian Riekel . His aunt is the editor-in-chief of Bunten und Instyle , Patricia Riekel .

Urban studied political science, philosophy and new German literature at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich .

After Detlef Bothe gave him his first role in the movie My Wife, My Friends and I (2004), he studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Institute in Los Angeles and the Herbert Berghof Studio in New York. On his return he completed his master's degree in political science, philosophy and psychology and worked a. a. for Playboy Germany.

Urban has played local reporter Gierke in the television series Um Himmels Willen since 2009 . In 2011 he was seen in Herzflimmern - Die Klinik am See as a con artist Paul Brandner. This was followed by TV appearances for Aktenzeichen XY ... unsolved and in the series Heiter bis tödlich: Hubert and Staller , SOKO 5113 and Die Chefin .

Urban was presenter on "Wiesn Gaudi TV", "Galileo Interaktiv" and with star interviews on "Tribute to Bambi". Urban also moderated for large companies such as Siemens, Volkswagen, Intel and Caparol.

In 2013 and 2015 Urban shot for the Federal Agency for Civic Education and RTL2 Zeit für Helden about moral courage in Germany. Urban embodied several "anti-heroes" in the first two seasons.

In 2014 and 2015 he worked for RTL Explosiv - Das Magazin as a hidden reporter at the Oktoberfest, and for Focus TV as a flirt expert.

His book Die Facebook Verführung was published in 2014.

As a voice actor , Urban is the German voice of Erik von Markovik .

Urban has been a certified business coach and trainer since 2016 and co-founded the "Interdisciplinary Institute for Training and Coaching". Urban is also an acting coach and lecturer at the Theater Werkmünchen.

Urban is a passionate athlete and runs for a good cause with the "Running Actors".
