Daniel de Roche (born December 1, 1954 ) is a Swiss pastor and politician ( EPP ).

Daniel de Roche studied Protestant theology and is a pastor. His last parish office was in the parish of Cordast . From 1999 to 2012 he was President of the Synodal Council of the Evangelical Reformed Church in the canton of Friborg . At the synod on June 4, 2012, he renounced another candidacy. Pierre-Philippe Blaser , pastor in the parish of Môtier-Vully, was elected as his successor . In November 2009, de Roche was elected President of the Conférence des Eglises protestantes romandes (CER) and on November 8, 2010 for the 2011-2014 term of office in the Council of the Federation of Swiss Protestants .

In March 2000 Daniel de Roche was elected to the Constitutional Council of the Canton of Friborg . There he worked above all to ensure that the recognition of the church as a public corporation is maintained. The possibility of public law recognition of other religious communities, which is anchored in the Freiburg constitution adopted by the people in May 2004, goes back to his initiative. In the elections for the Grand Council on November 5, 2006, de Roche was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Friborg for the EPP . Because he is the only EPP member in the parliament, he has the fraction connected "center-left alliance" (MLB) to which even the Greens and the CSP include. In the elections on November 13, 2011, he was not re-elected because the EPP, with 3.3% of the vote in the lake district, will no longer have a grand council.
