Daniel von Fellenberg (born August 13, 1736 in Bern ; † January 1, 1801 there ) was a Swiss politician and lawyer. He was reformed.

Life

Fellenberg studied law in Göttingen and received his doctorate there in 1756. From 1756 to 1760 he worked as a vice librarian and from 1759 he was secretary of the German Chamber of Appeals. From 1763 until 1777 he was given a legal professorship at the Bern Academy because of his legal treatises . In 1775 he joined the Bernese Grand Council and in 1786 became the Small Council . In 1777 he became a member of the Chamber of Appeal. In 1779 he officiated as Obervogt von Schenkenberg , in 1786 he was a school councilor, in 1787 a medical councilor and in 1790 Böspfenniger. As an educator, he was involved in scientific, political and literary circles in Bern and the Swiss Confederation. For example in Café Littéraire, in the Helvetic Society and the Société des Citoyens . He was president of the Economic Society and a member of the Political Institute. In 1793 he acquired the Wylhof in what is now the municipality of Münchenbuchsee , which was known as Hofwil under his son Philipp Emanuel .
