Munari celebrated his first success at the Italian championships in 2001. In ski jumping, he won the bronze medal behind Roberto Cecon and Jochen Strobl . He also won bronze in the Nordic combined. In 2002 he was accepted into the national team and started on January 9, 2002 in Val di Fiemme for the first time in the Nordic Combined World Cup . At the Italian Championships in Nordic Combined in 2002, he won the silver medal behind Andrea Longo . From December 2002 he started in the B-World Cup of Nordic Combined. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2003 in Val di Fiemme, he only achieved lower placements. Shortly afterwards he won bronze again at the Italian Championships. From December 2003 Munari started again in parallel in the World Cup. In the 2004/05 season he achieved his best overall ranking with 63rd place. Munari came 52nd in the Sprint World Cup overall standings. At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , he finished the sprint race in 38th and the Gundersen race in 39th place. With the team he could not finish the competition. At the Italian championship in 2006 he won bronze again. In the World Cup he was then largely unsuccessful, and there were no victories in the B World Cup. From 2009 he also started in the Continental Cup. Munari ended his career after the 2009/2010 season.
