Danielle Spencer (born May 16, 1969 in Sydney , New South Wales ) is an Australian actress , singer and songwriter .

Life

Danielle Spencer is the daughter of the Australian songwriter, singer and TV entertainer Don Spencer and his wife Julie, an Englishwoman from Yorkshire . She has an older brother, Dean. Danielle began taking piano lessons at the age of four and began composing her own melodies at the age of ten. She spent her childhood and youth up to the age of twelve alternately in Australia and in Yorkshire and Cambridgeshire , since her father worked for the BBC Playschool in both countries.

On April 7, 2003, Danielle Spencer married Wellington , New Zealand- born Australian actor Russell Crowe . The couple first met in 1989 while filming The Crossing , which hit Australian theaters in 1990. The two have two sons, Charles Spencer Crowe (* December 2003) and Tennyson Spencer Crowe (* July 2006). On October 14, 2012, Spencer and Crowe announced their amicable separation to the press after nine years of marriage.

Danielle Spencer came into contact with show business from both a father and a mother's side as a child when she accompanied her father to his performances. She enjoyed singing, acting and dancing lessons in classical and jazz ballet and modern dance. From 1989 to 2000 she worked as an actress, mainly for Australian television, mainly as an actress in television series.

Then the focus of her artistic activity shifted to the field of singer / songwriter. Her musical debut album White Monkey was released in 2001 and after a family break her second album Calling All Magicians was released in February 2010 . The music videos for the song titles Tickle Me and Wish I'd Been Here were directed by her husband .

In August 2011, Danielle Spencer performed for the first time with her husband in two live concerts. Together with the musicians and actors Alan Doyle, Kevin Durand , Size2Shoes and Scott Grimes, the couple presented the Crowe / Doyle Songbook Vol. III, whose songs a. refer to the novel Der Singende Baum (Dirt Music) by the Australian novelist Tim Winton .
