Danijel Kovačević (born February 28, 1978 ) is a Croatian football player .

career

Kovačević came to HNK Šibenik through NK Hrvatski Dragovoljac . There the young offensive player drew attention to himself and came to use in the Croatian U21 team when he came on for Hrvoje Vejić in the European Championship qualifier against Ireland .

He was also discovered in Germany, and SSV Ulm , who had been relegated from the Bundesliga in 1846 , signed him. However, Kovačević could not prevail permanently and in twelve games for the sparrows he scored two goals. However, since the club was relegated at the end of the season and crashed into the fifth division because of the license withdrawal , he moved to league rivals 1. FC Saarbrücken . He also scored two goals in eleven games in Saarland.

After his second relegation in Germany, Kovačević returned to Croatia and signed with NK Zagreb . In 2005 he moved to MŠK Žilina before returning to HNK Šibenik a year later, where he has been playing ever since.
