The Dankeskirche is an Evangelical Lutheran church on Curt-Mezger-Platz , in the Milbertshofen district of Munich .

history

The Dankeskirche was built in 1964/65 according to plans by Gustav Gsaenger on Keferloherstrasse. 70 erected. The foundation stone was laid on December 6, 1964, and was inaugurated on December 12, 1965. On December 12, 1976, the kindergarten and the Diakoniestation, which were built according to the plans of the architect Theodor Hugues in the same brick house construction, were inaugurated. The church organ was inaugurated on May 11, 1979.

The angular and simple cubic church building with church tower is made of red bricks with concrete fixtures. The interior with a wooden ceiling and pulpit, altar, gallery and baptismal font made of concrete convey clarity. A thank-you scene from the Gospel is depicted in a glass window behind the altar. Max Faller , Munich sculptor and goldsmith, created the altar cross and eleven bronze tablets depicting Christ's ordeal.

The organ

The organ above the entrance was built in 1979 by the Stöberl company. It has 23 registers on two manuals and pedal and a total of 1492 pipes.
