JP Morgan Tournament of Champions 2016

The JP Morgan Tournament of Champions 2016 took place January 7-14, 2016 at Grand Central Station in New York City , United States . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2015/16 and belonged to the PSA World Series category . The women's squash tournament also belonged to the World Series category and was part of the women's PSA World Tour 2015/16 .

Defending champion for men was Mohamed Elshorbagy , for women Raneem El Weleily . Elshorbagy won the tournament again after beating Nick Matthew in the final . He won the game against Matthew with 8:11, 11: 6, 11: 8, 6:11 and 11: 6. Nour El Sherbini won the women’s finals, defeating Amanda Sobhy 11: 4, 9:11, 12:10 and 11: 9.

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 32 players, eight of which were starting places for qualifiers. The eight best players were seeded. 32 players competed in the women's competition, eight of them starting for qualifiers. The 16 best players were seeded. Per Wildcard received Todd Harrity in the men's and Kanzy El Defrawy a spot in the main draw in the women each.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize money for the men and women was US $ 150,000 each.
